Sun Sea and Selling Houses is a TV series that follows four British families that are Spanish property agents in Spain. It first premiered on television across the UK back in March 2017 on Channel 4. Since then, it has inspired thousands of viewers to decide to buy their dream house in Spain.

Sun Sea and Selling Houses in 2024 shows the incredible range of properties located throughout Southern Spain and the Costa Blanca and the value you can get for your money. It also highlights the gorgeous region and all it offers.

Who are the families featured on Sun Sea and Selling Houses in 2024?

The first company to be followed by Sun Sea and Selling Houses in 2024 is Spanish Property Choice owned by the Garner family which is located in Costa Almeria. They are situated in the resort located in Mojacar just a short distance from the Mediterranean ocean and the blue flag beaches that this stunning coast offers. Spanish Property Choice was established in 2007 and currently has over 1000 properties listed on their books to be sold.

The other company featured on Sun Sea and Selling Houses are Casas Manuel which is owned by the Rodriguez family which is located in Alicante and shows properties across the Costa Blanca. Casas Manuel was established back in 2005 with their office in Benijofar, they opened their second office in La Zenia, Orihuela in 2014 and have proved very popular with Brits looking to move to the area.

In April 2022 season 5 of Sun Sea and Selling Houses aired in the UK and we were introduced to two new British estate agents who help sun-hungry Brits find their dream home in Spain.

These are The Hamilton’s of Hamilton Homes Spain who offers their services on the Costa del Sol. They specialise in the areas of Alcaidesa, Sotogrande, Manilva, Sabinillas Duquesa and Estepona and are great fun to watch while also sharing some family time with their three daughters, one of which is looking to also get into the property game and competes with Dad, Andrew, making promotional videos of the property listings.

The other couple on the show is Kerry and Steven Mellor from Mijas Real Estate, who is based in the Costa del Sol’s glamorous Málaga region. Kerry and Steven Mellor also help potential house buyers find their perfect property in Spain while enjoying some fun downtime each episode with activities like the super-fast, super high Zip Line, days out in the car with Kerry moaning at Steven for going the long way or just chilling with friends having a BBQ. So far in Season 5 many of Kerry and Stevens’s clients have had some large budgets and its a great feature of the show to see just what the rich can buy for their money in beautiful Spain.

The show is hosted by comedian and actor Jon Culshaw who was born in Ormskirk, Lancashire. Jon rose to fame after he began working in radio in the late 80’s. After his radio career, Jon Culshaw worked in the fields of television on shows like Spitting Image, he has also worked in film and is best known for his work in comedy.

Every episode of Sun Sea and Selling Houses is a story about a family, a couple or an individual who are looking to buy a house within Southern Spain or the Costa Blanca. Through each episode you will witness people who are looking to purchase a property for vacations, a retirement home, or to live full-time in Spain. You also get to see various types of properties like townhouses, villas, and apartments all at different budgets, making it a fascinating show to watch if you are interested in properties in Spain. Four seasons have already aired of Sun Sea, Selling Houses and each following the same two companies mentioned earlier. Season 6 was filmed back in 2022 and will be shown on TV in early 2024. Currently, there are over 100 episodes on Channel 4 for viewers to enjoy and Season 7 is due to start filming later this year.

Some of the locations that the families go to are simply breathtaking and the new additions in April 2022 in Season 5 with the Hamiltons and the Mellor’s has made the show even better!

Where are Sun Sea and Selling Houses filmed?

The program focuses on those looking for homes in the Costa Blanca, Costa Calida, Costa Almeria and the Costa del Sol regions and this is where filming takes place. This stretch of coastline is located along the Mediterranean Sea providing a wonderful warm and humid climate all year. With warm winters and scorching summers with temperatures that rarely dip below 16 degrees, it’s evident why the region is very popular with us Brits particularly those seeking to escape the cold winters back in the UK. The Costas offer so much more than just the weather and are where you will find many of Europe’s most breathtaking beaches, numerous traditional Spanish towns and culture, world-class golf courses breathtaking mountain ranges, national parks, amazing nightlife and much more.

Season 7 of Sun Sea and Selling Houses in 2024

Sun Sea and Selling Houses returned for its sixth season in 2023 and will be seeking home buyers eager to share their experiences while looking to purchase in Spain. The show is all about finding your dream home under the sun. The filming of Sun Sea and Selling Houses season 6, 2023 edition, took place back in 2022. The new series will then air on Channel 4 early in the 2023 summer months.
