Sunswept isles, delicious wines, offering the best of Spanish cuisine – and the weird, disgusting local ‘delicacy’ of gofio!

With influences from Africa, Latin America, and the Spanish peninsular, as well as recipes of the islands’ own creation, the Canary Islands are said to have the most original gastronomy in Spain. Gastronomes might argue the point, but there are two ‘delicacies’, unique to the Canaries, that every visitor should try at least once – in the case of one of them once is quite enough!
